Midwifery Care
Hapū māmā/
Pregnancy care
You will see us antenatally (while you are hapū/pregnant) at our antenatal clinic at Rimu Chiropractic. This beautiful space is located at 43 Matatua Road, in Raumati Beach. Our antenatal clinic day is Tuesday, but this may change unexpectedly if pēpē/babies are being born.
Time is an important word for us in our midwifery practice. Our antenatal appointments give you the time to ask questions & discuss options, enabling you to make the right choices for you on this exciting journey. Spending time getting to know each other during these appointments allows us to provide respectful, empowering & inclusive care and develop a relationship based on clear communication and trust.

Midwifery Care
Having your pēpē/baby
We provide confident, experienced, inclusive labour and birth care at your home and at Paraparaumu Maternity Unit. We are ‘Side by Side’ with you, protecting your space, working with you and supporting you. This is where the time shared during antenatal appointments is so valuable. We know you. You know us. The trust grown over the previous months will allow you to relax into your labour, feel safe in our experienced care and most importantly to trust the process.
If you have a higher risk pregnancy where it is recommended that you birth in Wellington Hospital, and this is what you have decided you would like to do then one of our Wellington based ‘Side by Side’ associate midwives will provide your labour and birth care once you are in Wellington Hospital. These midwives will provide you with exceptional empowering care within the hospital environment. In some cases your labour care may be provided directly by the hospital team.
Hāpu māmā/ pregnant women having planned caesarean sections will receive hospital care for their birth. If you would like a ‘Side by Side’ midwife present at your planned Cesarean then we are happy to plan for this.
Midwifery Care
With pēpē/baby
Postnatally ( after your pēpē/baby is born) we will see you and your pēpē/baby in your home for six weeks. During this time we support you with experienced, encouraging care which includes expert breastfeeding guidance. We feel strongly about breastfeeding and its benefits to both māmā/mothers and pēpē/babies. If however this isn’t right for you, we will of course support you with this.
After six weeks of our exceptional care, your WellChild/Tamariki Ora provider will continue to support you and your pēpē.
